TALES OF THE RUPTURED WALL – Esther Davies

Title
TALES OF THE RUPTURED WALL

A train-obsessed railway worker, Joseph becomes trapped in guilt and memories of the train-
hopping lifestyle he shared with his father. As he travels through a surreal world of trains, shape-
shifting figures of his psyche, he is forced to confront what happened to his deceased daughter.
Being encountered by a ghost girl of the tracks, Matylda, who hears everything the walls absorb,
she tells him what is written in the cracks. The story seeks to explore how we can break the
patterns passed down to us before they become our children’s inheritance.
