Official Selection: Atelier for Playwrights – 2026 Edition
The Atelier for Playwrights, a year-long dramaturgical programme implemented within the Sarajevo Theatre Showcase (STS) and the New Theatre Market (NTM), is pleased to announce the Official Selection for its 2026 edition. Following the open call, the programme received a total of 35 applications from playwrights across Southeast Europe. After a thorough evaluation process, 12 playwrights were selected to take part in the Atelier.

During the programme, participants will work closely with mentors Maria Milisavljević, Bernhard Studlar, Ivor Martinić and Biljana Srbljanović receiving continuous dramaturgical support throughout the development process.
The Atelier is led by Asja Krsmanović Imamović, Head of the Atelier.
The programme will run from January to September 2026, accompanying participants from the initial idea through the development and presentation of a completed play, with selected works to be presented during the Sarajevo Theatre Showcase 2026.
The first module of the Atelier will take place in Sarajevo from 26 to 29 January 2026, in an in-person format, marking the official start of the participants’ year-long creative and mentorship process.
