Launching of the Project:
Sarajevo Theatre Showcase
We are excited to announce the launch of the Sarajevo Theatre Showcase, a year-round initiative aimed at transforming the theatre landscape in Southeast Europe. Led by the Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR) in collaboration with partners from Norway, Italy, Serbia, and Croatia, this project seeks to create a dynamic platform for co-production, talent development, and sustainable practices in the regional theatre industry.
The Sarajevo Theatre Showcase will feature a range of activities, including:
- Theatre Market: A unique opportunity to present and pitch innovative projects, with support from regional and international mentors.
- Residency Programs: Tailored workshops to nurture emerging talent and foster cross-border collaborations.
- Stage Talks and Think Tanks: Discussions curated by industry leaders and organizations.
- Showcase of Productions: Highlighting fresh regional productions in Sarajevo, bringing together artists, producers, and audiences over three days.
- Green Lab: An initiative to promote environmental sustainability in public theatres, culminating in actionable plans and a regional award for the most impactful approach.
The first call for participation will be announced in January 2025, with submissions open to fresh regional productions and innovative ideas for the future of theatre.
