Nejra Babić Halvadžija
Biography
Nejra Babić Halvadžija is a playwright and dramaturge, born on May 24, 1989, in Sarajevo.
She co-authored the play Jedvanosimsoboakalomistobo with Aleš Kurt, which premiered at the Sarajevo War Theater SARTR and has won 17 awards at festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region. She is also one of the authors of Bullying Collection, which premiered at the Sarajevo War Theater SARTR. She has worked as a dramaturge on numerous theater productions.
Her play Suitcase Too Red to Be a Suitcase was included in the publication Contemporary Drama from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Polish by the M. Hertz Theatre Institute.
She is the author of the play We Are Still Alive, directed by Gianluca Iuemiento. Together with Selma Spahić and Emina Omerović, she co-authored the stage adaptation of The World and All That It Holds, based on the novel by Aleksandar Hemon. Based on her text, the opera Three Colors of Beetroot, composed by Irena Popović Dragović, was also staged at SARTR.
Nejra Babić Halvadžija currently works as a dramaturge at the Sarajevo War Theater SARTR.
