Set in the year 2225, The First Macedonian in Space is an anti-epic sci-fi theatre piece about a young astronomer’s quest to place his nation’s flag on Jupiter’s volcanic moon Io. Thе performance explores ambition, identity, and collective belonging in a future Balkan cosmos haunted by history.

Biography

Andrea Markoska

Andrea Markoska is an emerging film and theatre producer from North Macedonia, producer of the independent theatre Schtrich from Skopje. She also works on festivals such as the National Theatre Festival “Vojdan Chernodrinski”, and film productions. She has produced theatrical performances, short films and founded the Under 600 platform for connecting independent theatre artists across the Western Balkans.

Boris Vasileski

Boris Vasileski is a theatre director from North Macedonia, whose work often engages with themes of identity, power, and the absurd. He is one of the founders of the Macedonian theatre production Schtrich and is known for his sharp yet empathetic approach to contemporary social questions on stage.
